But hey, I've never been beyond third, never successful at third, and I failed miserably at putting changes on Mikey. I'm getting lucky here!Codex Dressagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04736021620789376995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010353728052033100.post-52885447372522046622016-09-29T21:41:23.689-04:002016-09-29T21:41:23.689-04:00It is so exciting! I'm even shakey on the half passes, but they were much better tonight.Codex Dressagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04736021620789376995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010353728052033100.post-24690191951927359152016-09-29T21:39:44.822-04:002016-09-29T21:39:44.822-04:00Is that pattern similar to the 3-3 change pattern?...Is that pattern similar to the 3-3 change pattern? Just leg yield instead of half pass?

Penn seems to be gifted in all things dressage to be honest. Even the half passes were better today. It took over a year to get Mikey to even think about changing his front end. It's so hard. I actually thought about you and the probable bazillion tools you have for changes! I'll give that one a try next time Penn is due for changes practice!Codex Dressagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04736021620789376995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010353728052033100.post-14412007172714772892016-09-29T21:35:43.176-04:002016-09-29T21:35:43.176-04:00Oooo! Maybe that would have clicked with him.Codex Dressagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04736021620789376995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010353728052033100.post-21583557921695008662016-09-29T21:15:52.690-04:002016-09-29T21:15:52.690-04:00Very exciting!! I have had EVERY problem in the book thrown at me and 3 YEARS later still cannot get a clean change in 1 direction most of the time. I guess my favorite one would probably be leg yield off the wall, to a half 10 m circle, to a change. So, lets say you are on the left lead. Leg yield off the wall to the left (off the right leg). At centerline (or wherever), straighten, and then do a half 10m circle left. Ask for change back to the wall.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11609268980526224486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010353728052033100.post-14305225843310724482016-09-29T14:38:19.213-04:002016-09-29T14:38:19.213-04:00And this is where I'm so grateful I've rid...And this is where I'm so grateful I've ridden Bobby literally since Day 1 because I put changes on him for the track, and he's so used to me bumbling around on his back that he still just gives them to me when I kind of, sort of ask semi correctly. Looking forward to reading about how you get an actual fancy dressage horse to do them!Carlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17308477892024999793noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010353728052033100.post-61903428759499922012016-09-29T12:31:23.748-04:002016-09-29T12:31:23.748-04:00That's ok, it is VERY exciting!
