He's much more wobbly than they are too, and I always forget that because his work is much more confirmed than Mikey's was at this stage, so I assume it's also better all around. What Mikey lacked in being confirmed, he made up for in steadiness and "let's go do this" attitude. I have to keep that in mind for Penn since he lacks the life experience that Mikey and Pig have.Codex Dressagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04736021620789376995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010353728052033100.post-73315164410567574312017-03-02T15:52:34.589-05:002017-03-02T15:52:34.589-05:00It should still be very exciting! It should still be very exciting!Codex Dressagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04736021620789376995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010353728052033100.post-21144214213706456992017-03-02T13:40:09.443-05:002017-03-02T13:40:09.443-05:00You guys are going to murder it. With a horses like Pig or Mikey, they were much less worried about "failing" than Penn is. It's easier to take that sort of horse above their confirmed level and still leave with them feeling confident. Penn isn't like that, and you're a smart cookie to give him the extra time to build strength feel like the BA he is.Austenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13004088333430762406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010353728052033100.post-22648298385627591452017-03-02T10:37:20.099-05:002017-03-02T10:37:20.099-05:00Still sounds like an exciting year to me! It's like when we started with training level tests and I was worried about getting him to keep his canter through the whole T-3 test! Funny how we're back to that square again, just on a new level. I have a feeling we will make several more trips back to it before the journey is done!Codex Dressagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04736021620789376995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010353728052033100.post-81457300501725183292017-03-01T14:21:20.343-05:002017-03-01T14:21:20.343-05:00I hope you're right!I hope you're right!Codex Dressagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04736021620789376995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010353728052033100.post-60513105816251352842017-03-01T14:20:33.383-05:002017-03-01T14:20:33.383-05:00I'm really hoping she understands... but it...I'm really hoping she understands... but it's not like I'm leaving her for someone just past her knowledge, or even someone local. I'm mostly just sad to have to repeat first level, but even when I did my original goals, I was like, "you could repeat first and own it" but decided I wanted to struggle with 2nd/3rd and own those next year. So this is an upgraded plan?Codex Dressagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04736021620789376995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010353728052033100.post-51476181073793730752017-03-01T14:17:19.888-05:002017-03-01T14:17:19.888-05:00He will be a much better horse for getting these &...He will be a much better horse for getting these "little" things down now. In reality tho Penn is killing it and taking this extra time to really shore up all things first while continuing to build strength for second third and beyond can only make for a stronger horse. Good luck! And esp good luck with talking to your trainer. I'm sure she will understand but it's definitely never easy!emmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05686949099663199382noreply@blogger.com
